Update
It has been a while since I blogged, so I thought I would do a quick update. We are on our third and final round of clomid. They told me it didn't work last month, but we found out later it did work just 20 days later than usual. I just went to have a CIS to check to see if my tubes were blocked. NOT FUN! They were not blocked so now we keep our fingers crossed that this will work this month. Noah has been talking up a storm. He has also had trouble with his asthma. We had to visit the ER recently. Luckily they got him in pretty quick, because there were at least 75 kids in the waiting room. I have never seen anything like it! He is doing better now. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this spring is not as bad as last spring for him. Toby and I will celebrate our six year anniversary this Sunday, not that we are doing anything. We will probably just stay at home. That is pretty much all that is going on here. Hopefully we will have some good news on baby #2 soon!

talking
I have been agonizing for months that Noah was not talking on time. I have talked to lots of friends and family about this and they made me feel better. I heard from a lot of people that boys just take a little longer to talk. But still there is always that small part in the back of my mind that worried that Noah would have some sort of speech problems. But thank goodness I am not so worried anymore! :) He started saying "car" yesterday. I realize now that he has been talking for about a week, I was just waiting for the words to be really clear and perfect. His first true words were "all gone". He also says "oh no", "done", "bye", and Toby swears he said "dog" this morning. He tries to repeat what we are saying. Yesterday he was trying to say "banana", but that one will take some work. I understood him, but I am sure everyone else would just think it was gibberish. I feel this overwhelming sense of relief. He is saying something new everyday. It took him a while, but now he is talking all the time!

2009
I am so hoping that 2009 will be better than 2008. 2008 brought very little happiness and a whole lot of pain. From Noah and Toby having surgery (surgeries in Toby's case) to problems with Toby's family and having to deal with the situation at work and trying to get pregnant again and losing friends (if they were ever truly friends to begin with). I am exhausted. I am hoping that it is now our turn to have some good luck this year. I always say that things don't have to be great, just normal. That is again my hope for this new year, to have a year of normal. Toby will be having another surgery in March, hopefully everything will go okay and it will be his last. We have been worrying about how to survive the summer without the help of my student loans, and then we got a small piece of an inheritance that will allow us to breathe a little easier. So things are looking up, I just hope they stay there. I wish a happy new year for all of you and your families. I hope 2009 is the best yet!

Here we go again
Well, the Clomid worked in the sense that it made me ovulate, but sadly I did not get pregnant this month. I should be starting Clomid on Monday to try again. I am encouraged that the medicine worked and hope next month will have a happier ending.

And now we wait
I went to the doctor today and I found out that the clomid worked. I ovulated! I am very excited because it has only worked one other time, and the result of that is now the light of our lives. So now we wait for another week or two to start testing. I am keeping my fingers crossed. In the meantime, my little one is brightening all of my days with his new cheeseball smile! Enjoy!

Ear infections
Noah has been sick since Thanksgiving. He ran his first fever. :( I finally took him to the doctor after I waited the three days the office told me to wait and see if it passed. I should have trusted my gut instinct and taken him in, because he might be better ny now. He has been laying around, not doing much of anything. He wants me to hold him all the time, which is very hard as I am trying to finish up school for this semester. We have not been able to do any fun Christmas things yet. Although we did go ahead and put up our trees. Noah really did not like decorating those. He has watched Elmo saves Christmas, but that is about it. We were supposed to go see my dad march in the Fort Worth Christmas parade, but he was too sick. We did get his picture taken with Santa. He did not like that at all! This weekend, we are going to our town's tree lighting and hopefully to downtown to see that Santa and enjoy downtown at Christmas. Hopefully, he will feel better soon and we will be able to do some fun Christmas activities! Here is his Santa pic.

No, no...get down...don't stand on that.. what are you doing?!?
I feel like those are the only words I say anymore. Noah is into everything. We put up our Christmas trees this past weekend, because the weekend after Thanksgiving is already very busy. He has tried to pull off all of the ornaments. He does not like the fact that his Elmo ornaments are on the tree and not in his hand. When he is not messing with the tree, he is climbing on tables, standing on his rocking horse, getting inside his blanket basket, climbing on our baker's rack, hitting the dog, eating random things off the ground (including his first, but I am sure not last, dead bug)! Sometimes I feel like I am losing my mind! By the time, Toby gets home I am exhausted! I wonder what it will be like with two?
I finished my Clomid on Sunday. I have had all of the side effects, including some I forgot about. I did not remember having all of the hot flashes, but when I mentioned it, Toby just rolled his eyes and reminded me of last time! So now we wait. I go to the dr on Dec. 8th to see if I ovulated or not. For now, I just sit here and pray!
