Good appt.
I had my appt. today with my OB and so far everything is great! Blood pressure is stable and no protein in my urine. That nasty pre eclampsia needs to stay away! :) I also got a flu shot for the first time in my life. He wants me to get a swine flu shot next time, but I think I am going to decline it. There has just not been enough research done for my peace of mind. Next appt. I get to see my little one on the sono. The dr could not get a good view of the four chambers of the heart, so I get to have another one. I also get to take another glucose test. Fun times! But I am so glad that this dr is watching me very closely. I also found out that my insurance company drug their feet in getting my benefits to my new dr. They waited until after Sept. 1 so that I now have another $500 deductible that has not been met at all. If they would have run it when they were supposed to, my entire deductible would have been met! So frustrating. I am enjoying every moment of pregnancy as it will be my last. (Unless I can convince Toby of something different! :) )

Good days lately
Finally, Noah's asthma seems to be better. Fingers crossed that it stays that way! Noah is talking all of the time now. I can't believe I was ever worried! He is quite the chatter box. I am sure people at Walmart think I am nuts. b/c I carry on very random conversations with my 2 year old complete with hand motions and sound effects! :) His terrible twos seem to be calming down quite a bit! (I wonder if I should even say that for fear of jinxing myself!) We are starting to get into the swing of Toby being back at work, although he has been gone all day several times already which makes it a little harder. Noah likes to see his daddy and being around 6 months pregnant and chasing a toddler can sometimes get to me if I have to do it all day. But overall, life is going well right now. Toby got the green light from both eye specialists until Dec. That is the longest we have ever been able to go. Yea! Other than that, not too much going on. We are very excited to meet Madeline and we are trying to get ready for her arrival. So far so good in regard to the pregnancy. We are very hopeful that I will not have any complications this time!

When will my little one catch a break?
I am so frustrated and sad for Noah. Every time something happens and we are able to get over it, it seems like bad things start all over again. This time it is more of the same. His asthma flared back up at 3:30am last night, and we are having a hard time getting it under control. I want so badly to take away his pain and discomfort. I would give anything for him to have a completely normal life without all of these complications. It is so hard to listen to him struggle for every breath he takes. Now we are just waiting on the dr to call us back so we can get his medicine refilled. Hopefully, he will get over this round a little quicker than he did last time.

It's a ....
Girl! My dr couldn't figure out what is was, so Toby and rushed home and made an appt. for the next day to have it done again at a place called Window in the Womb in Southlake. She found it right away. She was 85% sure it was a girl. It had better be, or some little boy is going to have a lot of pink!

Going green
I never thought I would be so interested in this, but with the second baby coming it seems to be more and more important especially when I see how much better it is for the baby. I was reading the blog of a fellow PCOS mom whose baby came very early. She had a link with information about wrapping your crib mattress to prevent SIDS. That got me started looking a little more closely at items I never gave much thought to, like mattresses, crib covers, playyards, etc. I am also going to try cloth diapers for many reasons. It started off as a good way to save money and then it grew into so much more. So we will see how this goes. Hopefully, I will have at least a mostly green baby! :)

2nd trimester
I haven't posted in a while. I have almost been afraid to post for fear that everything will just disappear! I am now 15 weeks along. I have my gender ultrasound the first week of August. It is hard to believe that it is all happening so fast. It also amazes me how different it is being pregnant for the second time, in every way. First, the pregnancy itself is totally different. With Noah, I hardly wanted to eat anything, and with this pregnancy I swear I could eat everything in sight. I am always hungry! That is only one way it is different. This pregnancy is the complete opposite of Noah. Secondly, I am different this time. By 15 weeks with Noah, I had the nursery set up and had bought a ton of stuff. This time I haven't even cleaned out the room for the nursery. We have only the leftover stuff from Noah. We have most of the basics, but even if it is a boy we will probably have to buy all new clothes, b/c of course my two little ones will be born in complete opposite seasons. Noah was born in the beginning of the summer and this little one will be born in the beginning of winter. I have an at home heartbeat doppler and we have heard the heartbeat many times. It is so wonderful to hear that little sound! I cannot wait until next month to see if we are having a little Braden Matthew or an Isabella Grace.
Noah has been really sweet about the new baby (not that he really understands much!). He will come and lift up my shirt and point to my belly and say baby and give it a hug and a kiss. It just melts my heart! He is totally into the terrible twos now though. Everything is "mine" and he can throw an amazing fit if he wants to. But he can go from being quite the little toot to being the sweetest thing ever. He loves to kiss all of his stuffed animals and he loves to blow kisses. So the frustration of the terrible twos is often quickly forgotten!
We are planning our first family vacation. We are going to Galveston for two days. We are very excited since we have not been on a real trip since our honeymoon! We just hope Noah will enjoy it. I guess that is about it for now.

well
It is official, I am pregnant! I got a positive hpt on Friday. My dr took my beta that day and it was 119. I went back on Monday and it had more than doubled to 609. I am being very cautious because I am still at an increased risk of miscarriage due to my PCOS. We are very excited and ready to welcome the newest member of our family in Dec.
